Healthcare
Small government.
No mandates.
Medical freedom.
My healthcare policy leans right.
The “right” supports lower taxes and smaller government, with fewer public programs, including less control over how (or if) you find healthcare. This means keeping our existing private health insurance marketplaces intact.
The “left” supports public programs mandating how & if you find healthcare. They cite rising healthcare costs and medical debt among folks who forego insurance because it’s too expensive. Their solution is to regulate the marketplace in order to improve access. This is sometimes called “Medicare for All,” “single-payer healthcare” or “universal healthcare” — they’re all basically the same thing.
Both sides have a point. I believe the right is correct that the government shouldn’t be able to force you into paying for something you don’t want (although I also believe they’re hypocrites for not extending this liberty to abortion protections). I believe the left is correct that the lower & middle class are getting screwed in the current marketplace.
As mentioned in my Economic policy, I also think the government sucks at getting hard things done. Universal healthcare is hard.
So, I believe in keeping the private marketplace — so, no Medicare for All — but holding insurance companies accountable. “Easier said than done!” Yeah, yeah, because our Representatives are idiots. Elect people who are smart and have a spine, and then this will start to get better.

Regulate Pharma, not citizens
40% of Americans can’t afford medicine. The government must police corporate greed to keep drug costs in check.

Healthy competition
Most Americans support Medicare, but not Medicare for All. Let’s fight for healthy competition, choice, and fair pricing in the existing marketplace.

More access, fewer mandates
The federal government should make it safe & easy to get quality care, without forcing any pills down your throat.
